Equine & Animal Assisted Therapy

Equine Assisted Interactions (EAI) and Animal Assisted Interactions (AAI) include activities and/or an environment, containing horses or other animals, used to promote physical, occupational, and emotional growth in persons suffering from various cognitive, intellectual and physical disabilities. EAI can help the person build confidence, self- efficiency, communication, trust, perspective, social skills, impulse control, and learn boundaries. Since the horses have comparable behaviours with humans, such as social and responsive behaviours, it is easy for the children to create a relationship with the horse and as a result progress in specific areas of their development.
